The castle is located in Nakuru county in a place known as Ngata.
The story behind this castle is heart-wrenching tale of unrequited Love.
He met an Austrian woman and fell deeply in love with her .He tried to convince her to marry him and start a family but it all was in vein cause the woman declined .He invited the lady to his house but the lady dint stay even for an hour instead she called the house a “Chicken Coop”.
LOrd egerton uped his game just to prove his worth to the lady by building the 52 room mansion.She invited her to the newly built castle but she turned him down again.
The lady later on got married to a British man in Australia leaving lord Egerton devastated.
Lord Egerton castle is a spot worth visiting .
