Better DIY Bucket Swamp Cooler Design!

I tried out the bucket swamp cooler design I saw here on YouTube with the 3 holes cut out in the front and it hardly worked. I found that if you have the swamp cooler sponge have an air gap all the way around it on the inside of the bucket then air can actually pass through all the sponge and really boost the cooling efficiency! Also with this design you do not need to deal with water dripping out your vent holes. Here is the link (below) to the fish tank pump I got off Ebay. The metal mesh was purchased at IFA and everything else from Home Depot.
TIP: The blue swamp cooler sponge has little lint sized pieces come off of it and it will get sucked up by the pump and clog the little holes in the tubing so be sure to wrap the pump in some sort of filter. I donated one of my wife's nylons and it works great! Just use zip ties to hold the nylon around the intake of the pump!
