So I recently got a new anamorphic scope for my BMPCC6kpro which should allow me to use a lens as wide as 28mm so I started looking. I already have quite a few FD and absolutely love them so I thought I would start there. There were three options, the FD 28mm f2.8 S.C. - the FD 28mm f2 S.S.C. - and the nFD 28mm f2. The f2 SSC version costed considerably more than the other two options so I bought one to do a comparison. Decided to compare it to the SC for two reasons. One is build quality. The nFD non L prime lenses often feel like toys to me. Two is how deep the front element is in the casing. The nFD version's front element is deeper which isn't the best for anamorphic. Since I already have a set of the SSC with only the 28mm missing I was very interested in how it would compare. This video shows why I think the f2 SSC version is considerably better than the SC. Of course you might disagree but since filming these test shots I have fallen even more in love with the f2 SSC. It is now tied for my favorite lens with the 35 concave SSC :)
