It would be hard to point to anyone who has influenced my own musical sound more than the master Mellotronner himself, Micheal Pinder, so it was very sad to learn of his passing a few days ago. He was of course a founder member of the Moody Blues, and his trademark sound heralded the beginnings of prog rock with the album "Days of Future Passed" in 1967. He contributed two songs to that album - the opening sung track, "Dawn is a Feeling" and then "The Sunset" on side two. The latter is the subject of this cover, recorded over the past couple of days.

Thanks for the inspiration, Mr P! Keep soaring high on that celestial Mellotron.
