The Lost Girls are on a mission.

Dismissed, ignored, caged, or forgotten, they’re ready to send a message to the world written in fire. But when their rebellion drastically miscarries they find themselves holed up in a basement with a stranger’s life in their hands. As they fight to determine the fate of their hostage – free her, keep her, or make her disappear – the chasm widens between What They Believe and What They Can Do. Faced with the cost of their cause, the four lost girls (and one woman who wants nothing more than to be found) wrestle and rage against a transgression that could destroy them.

Matt Minnicino’s Malefactions is an all-female molotov cocktail of a play that examines the narrow lines between action and activism; needing to be saved and wanting to do the saving; being trapped by your the choices you make or freed by them. Malefactions is the first production to come out of the Cradle’s New Works Reading Series and is a part of our commitment to finding and developing new classics with emerging theatre artists.
