At Manchester Met, our nursing students learn to treat the whole person, developing the empathy, knowledge, and confidence to make a real difference in people’s lives.

In this video, you’ll hear from Rosie, BSc (Hons) Nursing alumna who came to Manchester Met later in life after her own mental health journey. She shares what makes the university’s approach to healthcare education unique, and how lived experience has shaped her path as a future nurse.

You’ll also meet Dr. Carly Jacobs, a psychologist who explains the importance of treating both mind and body in healthcare. Plus Benedict Heinitz, who leads the Lived Experience Network, explains how we'll help you connect theory with real-world perspectives from people with lived experience. Together, they reveal how Manchester Met prepares the next generation of nurses and healthcare professionals to deliver care that’s human, holistic, and grounded in understanding.
