24 year old Micheal day was described in court as a m*niac. After a disagreement over money owed, Michael decided to get behind the wheel of a car in the early hours of the morning on April 14th 2023.

Angry, agitated, and deluded by the fact that his victims 33 yer old Thomas bowers and 53 year old Stephen Byrne had the minerals to confront a man, Michael wanted to end their lives. And he was going to use a car to ki!l and commit m*rder

Stephen byrne and Thomas bowers had confronted a man at a flat in the springnburn area of glasgow. During the disagreement slash argument Thomas accepted that voices had been raised but now hands or items had been used. - it was classed as a typical bust up.

Michael who only had a provisional licence drove to the scene in a vauxhall astra . He then tailed Thomas and Stephen

While Stephen and Thomas were walking along peters hill road at the junction, minutes after leaving the flat.

Michael blinded by rage has revved his engine, stomped on the acceleration pedal and then drove deliberately at Thomas and stephen. Both men were said to have turned towards the sound of the approaching car.

Thomas and Stephen had attempted to jump out of the way. However both men were ploughed in to. So disgusted by Thomas and Stephen was Michael day that after pl*ughed into his victims, he then reversed the car and then pl*ughed into them for a second time.

When the glasgow men were unmoving on the ground, their frames mangled and red staining the tarmac, Michael then drove a way,. Fleeing the scene.

Police mentioned while Stephen and Thomas were incapacitated on the ground cctv footage that captured the incident, showed a group of people coming to the scene and then emptying the pockets of Thomas bowers

Tragically Thomas bowers was k!lled in the incident, while Stephen Byrne was seriously injured and is still in a wheelchair.

Michael day have been arrested in regards to the m*rder and when he went to court, he was dismayed that one of his victims, stpehen was able to act as a witness and tell his account.

Stephen admitted there had been raised voices at the property in spring hill because money had been owed and after stalling, the two men came out empty handed.. Stephen also explained that there was no scrap or no brawl, nothing that should have resulted in him being left in a wheel char and Thomas bowers being k!lled in such a public way.

In court Stephen bowers also said I remember trying to jump as the car cane towers men. I heard the revving of an engine , the lights and that was it.

Stephen was able to speak after the collision and he had asked people to call an ambulance for both him and Thomas bowers.

After the incident Michael day was said to have incriminated himself by messaging a friend and asking them to help him get rid of the car by torching it. The friend refused not wanting to be caught up in the drama of such a serious crime.

Police found the car later discovered, burnt out in the cities riderie.

Because Michael was trying to evade the police, he had fled to a caravan park in Ayrshire. Michael day further incriminated himself by taking the simcard out of his mobile and then d*stroying it

At glasgow high court Michael day was found guilt of m*rder regarding Thomas bowers and also attempted m*rder Stephen byrne.

During the court case the jury was showed the cctv footage that captured manic Michael day deliberately pl*ughing into his victims. So distraught and upset was Thomas and Stephens family were that they could not stay in the court room while the footage was played and opted to leave. Unable to keep their composure.


Michael day is due to be sentenced next month
