Elkanah : Samuel's father | Men of the bible had many wives

Elkanah was the second son of Korah (Exodus 6:24) or, according to 1 Chronicles 6:22, 23, his grandson. Moreover, he was the father of the prophet Samuel, as mentioned in 1 Chronicles 6:27, 34.

Elkanah had two wives - Hannah, the mother of Samuel, and Peninnah. Elkanah's faith and dedication to God played an important part in raising Samuel, who became one of the most influential prophets in Israel's history. The story of Elkanah, his wives, and especially the birth and dedication of Samuel his son, holds a significant place in Israel's spiritual history.
