Mumonkan 19- EIDO SHIMANO ROSHI's Last Teisho in NYC

The Rinzai Zen Sangha conducted a Virtual Memorial Zazenkai with ZOOM , February 18, 2021, to honor the life of EIDO TAI SHIMANO ROSHI, a Beloved Zen Master, Teacher, and Friend.

He was the founding Abbott of New York Zendo Shobo-ji and Dai Bosatsu Zendo Shobo-ji, NY, with the "Impossible Dream " of bringing traditional Rinzai Zen Practice to the West.

This video recording of Eido Roshi was presented as his last Teisho to the Rinzai Zen Sangha on Mandala Day January 21, 2018. The topic was focused on the Gateless Gate (Mumonkan) Case 19 "NANSEN's ORDINARY MIND IS THE WAY"

The following month on February 18, 2018, as the Rinzai Zen Sangha completed its Mandala Day Ceremony in NYC at 1:15 pm., Eido Roshi passed away peacefully in Japan as he slept.
