Dr. Janine shares the best type of salt. She talks about how table salt is actually not that good for you. Table salt has been bleached and refined to remove impurities and eliminate any trace minerals, anti-caking agents have been added to it, as well as fake iodine. Kosher salt does not contain anti-caking agents or fake iodine, but it has been processed. She looks at how Himalayan pink salt often contains heavy metals and should not be ingested. Celtic or gray salt from France does have a lot of minerals which is good but it has also been found to contain microplastics according to research. Lastly, Dr. Janine shares the type of salt she prefers, Utah lake salt which has a high mineral and iodine content and is low in microplastics. Follow for more natural health tips.
