CSEM proposes a new approach to printed electronic devices.
Printed electronics are on the way, but industry needs advanced equipment, processes, test materials and devices to make them a reality.

CSEM helps partners with its novel technologies. First, circuits are designed according to product requirements and material properties.
The Labratester II is a high precision gravure system. Inks for the conductor, insulator and semiconductor are selected and tested. CSEM supported the final development of this key lab equipment.

Thermal sintering functionalizes the inks. CSEM's know-how in printing electronics fulfills industrial needs and promotes the development of a wide range of potential applications. The next step involves opto-mechanical alignment with precision accuracy. The second layer of printing deposits, in this case, a semiconductor ink. Bottom-up methods such as printing functional materials on large areas from solution, help CSEM's partners avoid financially and environmentally costly processes. Now, measurement shows the output characteristics of single, printed transistor test devices.

Transistors are qualified with a CSEM-made automated prober.
It automatically measures transfer characteristics, extracting parameters such as mobility to create statistics that evaluate the reliability of devices and processes.
Printed OTFTs can be used for flexible displays, intelligent tags, large area sensors, smart labels, flexible memory, integrated circuits. CSEM knows how to make them all.
