5 Left Hand Pinky Strengthening Exercises | +Bonus & Tips

Based on the anatomy of the human hand, most violinists and violists need to give the left pinky extra TLC and attention to keep it in tip top shape. This is especially true if you have a small hand or the pinky is significantly shorter than the other fingers. Here are some tips and exercises to strengthen the left hand pinky and help distribute the weight more evenly across all the fingers. Also, as a bonus, I threw in a pinky exercise I learned from Nathan Cole while participating in his summer Violympic Games.
