🙏Sincere Gratitude - Timely Response & Civic Discipline Ensure Safe Rescue of 582 Monorail Passengers

🚝Yesterday, on the evening of 19th August 2025, a total of 582 passengers stranded in a monorail between Chembur and Bhakti Park, near Mysore Colony, were safely rescued with the assistance of snorkel (ladder) vehicles by the Mumbai Fire Brigade of the BMC.

🔹Displaying exemplary alertness and swift response, the Mumbai Fire Brigade led this rescue operation efficiently. Valuable support was extended by the Health Department, Ward Office and other civic departments.

🤝Crucial coordination was also received from Mumbai Police, Traffic Police, BEST and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). This seamless inter-agency cooperation, carried out under the guidance of the Government of Maharashtra, ensured the success of the operation.

🙏A special note of appreciation goes to the stranded passengers, whose presence of mind, patience and courage deserve high praise! By immediately contacting the BMC's 1916 emergency helpline, maintaining calm and supporting each other until help arrived, diligently following instructions from the Mumbai Fire Brigade and other authorities during the rescue operation, these passengers have set a commendable example of civic discipline during emergencies.
