Описание к видео 1971 HG LS Holden Monaro for sale

This is an original 1971 HG GTS Monaro that has been completely rebuilt as a resto-mod focused on combining old school Aussie muscle with modern performance and reliability. The car started life as a GTS 186S in Gold with a vinyl top that a family friend of the current owner had for 20 years. It was a reasonable driver quality car to start with rather than a rusty field project but a decision was made to undertake a full build on the car along with some major upgrades. The current owner pulled the car back to a bare shell and performed any necessary rust repairs before placing the car on a rotisserie. The floors were all prepped and nicely painted underneath before any modifications began. Starting from the front, a Castlemaine rod shop front end with rack and pinion steering was fitted. Coil over suspension control the ride height and keep things planted to the road. Under the rear is Caltracs with mono leafs and coil over shocks. The diff is a hand built 9” with Tru-trac center and 3.71 strange gears. A pair of 35 spline strange billet axels feed power to the rear wheels. Stopping the beast is handled by Willwood disk brakes all round and a Willwood dual master cylinder. The car was also converted to HQ stud pattern all round. All fuel lines and brake lines were hidden and the was battery relocated to boot.

Externally the car is nicely presented in general. With the car stripped to bare metal and any repairs completed, it was fully repainted in Metallic Grey inside and out. The chrome bumpers were all refinished and a set of LED style headlights fitted up front to hint at a more modern heart underneath. The car sits on a custom set of polished one off Raceline billet wheels that were custom made in the USA and sent over for the car.

Lifting the bonnet reveals a super tidy engine bay with billet hinges and nicely smoothed and painted inner fenders. The elephant in the room is the LS3 V8 built by Shane Alex that has been stroked out to 416ci and includes a range of go-fast goodies. Full receipts available for the engine build which resulted in a healthy 441hp at the wheels and a massive 996nm of Torque! The gearbox is a turbo 400 item which was rebuild and beefed up by Bob Grant Automatics in Brisbane along with a striker quick shifter.

Inside has been completely redone. The seats were all resprung and frames refurbished with new foam. The door cards and seat trims are all real leather from Winner Products in South Australia. A new Vintage Air air conditioning setup keeps things nice and cool inside the cabin. The stereo is original style radio that has been converted to Bluetooth connectivity with modern features. Inside the boot is also nicely trimmed with vanity panels to match the interior.

The car was built over 4 years being completed in mid 2017. Since then, the car has travelled less than 15,000kms in total. The execution of the build is very high quality, with the car up on the hoist you can very quickly see all the hard work and money that has been put into the build. The car has been mod plated in QLD for all of the modifications made. These Monaro’s have exploded in popularity over the last few years and this is certainly a great example that has been built to be driven and combines classic lines with modern reliability and performance.
