Elite Dangerous: The Type 8 Pirate

It's a common sentiment around the Elite Dangerous PvP community that Piracy is DEAD. Too many haulers insist on avoiding Open, and when they don't, they will log out the moment they're attacked by a pirate, not giving any time to scrape cargo out of their hold. It's often given as the reason most organic PvP is ganking; if players are going to hit the logout timer anyway, then a DPS race it is.

I wasn't so sure. So I made a plan...

After engineering an unassuming new cargo vessel, the Type 8, into an unexpectable pirate vessel, I set about finding a suitable trade route to plunder. I couldn't just wait around for a Cargo CG, as those are always lousy with gankers (like me), but if I picked a system with little to no activity, then it would be pointless. Luckily, I'm a genius, and sussed out a popular cargo route without ANY other gankers or pirates to compete with. The following is just SOME of the footage I acquired over a 48 hour period; I had too much to use in a single video. Ain't that something?
