Our breathing and kidneys control our blood pH.

The pH level is tightly managed by the brain as even minor changes can be lethal. Too acidic or too alkaline BOTH would be harmful.

And in certain disease conditions this does go awry like respiratory, or kidney problems as these two systems are crucial for acid-base balance.

Besides each organ system has their own pH levels - Stomach is acidic as if it were alkaline who would kill the worms and bacteria. Skin is also acidic to protect us from fungal infections. Small intestine is alkaline. Etc
.
Point here is that acidic or alkaline are not good or bad terms. Everything has a role to play in maintaining BALANCE.

So - If eating more alkalising foods means you’re including more fruits and vegetables in your diet - GREAT. But if it means ignoring the basics (diet, exercise, sleep, stress) and putting your money and effort into quick fixes and hoping for the best - you may end up getting no results.

And lastly hope this reiterated the important role of breathing for our overall wellbeing. So, remember to focus on your Breath. Even 5 conscious breaths a day are powerful, more are ofcourse better.
