Welcome to my first week in Vietnam—a journey filled with excitement, culture, and some unexpected surprises. In this video, I take you through the highs and lows of my first days in this fascinating country. What started as a simple exploration of Da Nang’s stunning beaches and vibrant city life quickly turned into a series of unexpected adventures.
On day three, I had to make an impromptu visit to a local dentist. After experiencing some dental issues, I found myself in a Da Nang dental clinic, and I was blown away by the quality of care. With only a small bridge repair and cleaning needed, I was in and out in no time, and the entire experience cost me just $23. It was a testament to the efficiency and affordability of healthcare in Vietnam, something I hadn’t anticipated.
But the surprises didn’t stop there. On day four, I found myself dealing with more serious health concerns, leading to an unexpected trip to the hospital. Navigating a foreign healthcare system can be daunting, but I’ll take you through the experience, from finding a pharmacy to getting the care I needed. Despite the challenges, I managed to keep a positive outlook and learned a lot about the local culture and healthcare system in the process.
In between these healthcare detours, I still managed to explore some of the beauty and wonder that Da Nang has to offer. From the early morning buzz at the beach, where locals gather to swim and exercise, to trying out the famous coconut coffee that everyone raves about, every day was an adventure. I even found some great deals on accommodations, ranging from a $13 room with a city view to a more spacious $54 suite for three nights.
This week has been a rollercoaster of experiences—some planned, some not—but all part of the journey. Whether you’re interested in travel, curious about life in Vietnam, or just enjoy hearing about the unexpected twists and turns of life on the road, this video has something for you. So sit back, relax, and join me as I share my first impressions of Vietnam, the challenges I faced, and the incredible resilience and warmth of the people I’ve met along the way.
