He was born in the royal land of Kapilavastu,
Beloved by his people, shining like the sun.
A noble prince, so graceful and wise,
No one could match his heart and mind.
His boundless love shook heaven and earth.
⸻
In his golden palace, a wife and son so dear,
Yet he saw the sorrow of life everywhere.
Why do we chase for greed and fame?
Why cling to love that fades away?
One silent night, he left to seek the way of truth.

We call your name, O Shakyamuni Buddha,
Through countless lives, we bow at your feet.
Your light of compassion clears all delusion,
You bring the truth of awakening to the world.
You guide our hearts to peace within.
⸻
Through endless trials, his heart remained pure,
The vow of awakening never shaken nor blurred.
All good and evil arise from the mind,
The Buddha dispels the dark of ignorance,
To shine the wisdom light on humankind.
⸻
We call your name, O Shakyamuni Buddha,
Through countless lives, we bow at your feet.
Your light of compassion clears all delusion,
You bring the truth of awakening to the world.
You guide our hearts to peace within.

Form is emptiness, emptiness is form,
So are feelings, thoughts, and mind.
Nothing apart, all things are one,
Thus is the teaching of the Buddha’s Way.
Gate Gate Pāragate Pārasaṃgate Bodhi Svāhā,
(Gone, gone beyond — Enlightenment complete!)
Four mindful paths lead back to truth,
Four great elements return to peace.
All is empty, all is pure,
Thus Nirvana — serene and free.
