Pretty bizarre... Yesterday I found out about the death of Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell. Album 'Superunknown' is still, after more than 20 years, one of my all-time favorite albums.

This DrummerMartijn video was meant to be just a fun track, but now unexpectedly turns out to be some kind of tribute to the great musician and songwriter Chris Cornell. May he found the inner peace he was looking for. I hope you may find some comfort in this video as well. And if you're not familiar with the original song or album, please check them out!

For the past few weeks I've been working on this homework assignment for my HKU Master studies: "Rearrange (or re-harmonize) one of your favorite songs". I choose '4th of July' by Soundgarden/Chriss Cornell. Such a great, dark & powerful composition. I kept the melody/vocal line intact, but changed and re-recorded everything else. All the additional keys and drums are arranged and performed by yours truly.
