We love to go local markets and try all sorts of street food and this video is no different. Phnom Penh is a very large city by Cambodian standards which means that they have lots and lots of local markets. We wanted to highlight the 3 most popular markets visited by locals and tourists.

The Russian market is open daily, and is more of a locals market. You can find anything from parts for scooters to expensive jewelry, but beware. This particular market is has vendors stacked on top of one another and get very smelly/sweaty very quickly.

The central market on the other hand, is actually organized. With central hall located in the center, different categories branch off from the center like spokes on a wagon wheel. This market is not air conditioned, but because of the design of the buildings and stalls, you won’t suffer near as much in the midday heat of Cambodia.

The Phnom Penh night market is a much smaller market that seems more accessories and clothing than anything else. We felt that this market was there more for tourists than anything else. All of us enjoyed our food, but the boys…… Oh the boys, LOVED their balut eggs. They ate the heck out of those eggs.
