One of the new trends in urban living is very old.

Metro Vancouverites are taking collaborative, creative approaches to homeownership -- co-buying, co-housing, and carving up single properties into multiple homes.

Realtor Noam Dolgin has carved out a specialty in what he calls a way to "hack" the existing housing market, by helping multiple parties purchase homes jointly.

"Co-ownership is a hack to create community, affordability, and sustainability," Dolgin said, whose organization CoHo B.C. runs "speed-dating"-type events to connect prospective co-buyers.
