My weekend on the CSX Berkshire sub ended with a 8 train Sunday. First it was off the Chester, MA CP 126. WE arrived in the rain and 41 Degree weather. We went to grab breakfast and hour later, we knew we had missed nothing due to the museum workers knowledge. Finnaly at about 11:15 "CSX Q293 Clear CP 123. Track 1 West Out." Finally after a five hour wait, CSX Q293 came around the bend with the crossing sequence and a Shave and Haircut. The same engines and possibly same crew from Q264 yesterday 4.12.14. Then about an hours wait. My dad got out for a sec and said "Oh crap we got one coming!" I bolted our the door as quick as I could. CSX Q022 with a AC6000, SD70ACe and AC44 came by with two shorts. Due to bad radio reception in the mountains all signals West-CP 135 and the detector-can not be picked up. After Q022 came Q420. Another sneaky Eastbound. I looked West, nothing I looked East, Train. I got up and started filming. However I think because I did see him coming and he saw when I got up, I didn't get any horn. Just two CSX GEVOs for power. Then while waiting for our pizza I heard, "Roger your train looks good." At first I thought i had missed something and something else was coming, so i went out to the car grabbed my stuff and looked up. CSX Q012. I ran over to the tracks and started just in time. Then i went to put my stuff away. I looked up again just incase, CSX Q264. I ran again to the tracks and had plenty of time. Q264 was just stopped due to a single track at 123 and was waiting for Q012 to pass. So he was going very slow. No horn but a GEVO and SD60 for power. The we went to Huntington waiting for L113. But surprisingly we heard "Amtrak 449 Clear CP 97 Arrving Springfield Track 1 West." Maybe the repeaters helped transmit it all the way to CP 119.52. So we saw 449. 449 blew out some black smoke past us and some good horn. Then we tried to head to Westfield, but just as we were passing CP 113 we saw a train. We turned around and the detector said he was only going 33 so that was good. We got out just in time for CSX Q423 with New GEVO and an old one. Two shorts for horn. Then to Westfield CP 107.70. A place .70 Miles from where wanted to be. So close yet so far. We had just gotten out of the car and, "CSX L424 Clear CP 109 Track 1 East CSX 5109 Out." L424 was hauling past with some good horn. And an AC44 a ES44AH and a EMD GP40-2. Three EMD's today. That was it for our day. Thank you for watching and enjoy!
