The population ageing in Bangladesh is progressing quite fast which seeking attention to public health policy and implication(Islam & Rahman, 2017). The national census data represent that the size and proportion of elderly ages 60 and over are 7 percent of total population and the number is increased from 1.38 million to 7.59 million from 1974 to 2011(BBS, 2011). By 2050, the number of elderly projected to be doubled to 36 million while the proportion will be around 22 elderly in every 100 population. That means, for every five person in Bangladesh, one will be the senior citizen(UN, 2019).

Elderly population in Bangladesh constitutes over 8 million in 2019 which is projected to reach above 30 million by 2050(UN, 2020). As other support system for elderly are under-developed to fill the gap between elderly health and healthcare access, the people at old age thus compelled to live with misery and despair(Monawar Hosain & Begum, 2003). In order to address social and health status of elderly several initiatives are taken into account in other south Asian countries, while this is a neglected segment of public health in Bangladesh. Thus, population based data on health, morbidity, well-being and health related behavior should be analysed to public health research which will help in formulating intervention for elderly.

This video will portray the comparative number of elderly in Asian countries from 2021-2070 by using motion graphs. Hope this analysis will be a resource for the students, academia, professionals and policy makers while they would think of working on elderly issues.
