How to check & verify the genuine mileage from a Land Rover/Range Rover or Jaguar in 30 seconds. You can use this tool to check the genuine mileage from the ECU of the vehicle.

In most cases, if the mileage has been changed by a criminal or somebody illegally changing the mileage, it is normally done on the odometer only, but most people don't know that the ECU (main computer within the vehicle) also keeps a record of the mileage, so if the mileage in the ECU is different to the mileage on the dashboard then the vehicle has been clocked.

It may not always be as straight forward as this, because the vehicle may have had a replacement odometer at some point, but this should be in the service history of the vehicle.
