Here I take a look at the Fenix LD25, including some indoor and outdoor beamshots. Yet another flashlight geared towards the outdoor crowd, the LD25 tries to appeal to the everyday user by simplifying its mode selection. Using 2 AA batteries, the light cranks out 180 lumens using an R4 Neutral White LED (which is around 4000k in color temperature). This will give you more accurate color rendition as opposed to a cool white tinted LED. The light comes with a Standard High and Low mode with the twist of the head. It also has 2 hidden modes allowing you to access 6 different output levels. There is a momentary on protruding tailcap button, so it does not tailstand. The unique feature about this light is that it has a plastic cover over the aluminum body. This in theory will prevent your hand from getting cold when using the flashlight outdoors in cold weather - which I think works well. The downside to that is that it adds weight and size to the overall circumference of the flashlight body. It is not as compact as the Fenix LD20, but more along the lines of a typical CR123a bodied flashlight in terms of the circumference of the light. Overall I think this is an excellent light in terms of build quality and design, at a similar pricepoint as something like the LD20. If you like Neutral White tinted lights, then this one will definitely be pleasing to your eyes. But if you prefer maximum brightness (and do not care about tint color), and a more tactical type mode selection (strobe but no momentary on) then I would go with something like the LD20.
