गणतंत्र दिवस वह दिन है, जब हमारा देश एक संप्रभु गणराज्य यानि Republic Nation बना। 26 जनवरी 1950 को भारत ने अपना संविधान लागू किया। यह दिन न केवल हमारी आजादी की, बल्कि लोकतंत्र और समानता की जीत का प्रतीक है।
स्वतंत्रता 15 अगस्त 1947 को मिली थी, लेकिन उसके बाद देश को एक ऐसे संविधान की जरूरत थी, जो हर नागरिक को समान अधिकार और सम्मान दे। संविधान ने भारत को दिशा और एक पहचान दी। 26 जनवरी 1950 को हमारा संविधान लागू हुआ और भारत एक गणराज्य बना।

संविधान सभा ने 26 नवंबर 1949 को भारत का संविधान तैयार कर लिया था, लेकिन इसे लागू करने के लिए 26 जनवरी को चुना गया।
