Welcome back to Polyblank! This time, we take a journey throughout art history to see how gods and deities have been depicted by humans and the reasonings behind these drawings.

I also wanted to tackle more complex topics such as what a painting or sculpture of a god really is and what seperates normal drawings from depictions of deities. This, I tried to tell through the botched Ecce Homo restoration.

On the side, I show how different geographies have handled depicting their own gods and how individual drawings of gods have certain elements in common. Plus a small segment on the modern Lovecraft mythos deities.

There is also the issue of how such a depiction would look, would it be a surrealist painting? Abstract? Op-Art? I hope there was something to learn in this jumble of art history.

The next video may be an art-related competition.
