I finally got the much-needed Salida summer of my dreams❤️

I don’t think I’ve paddled like this since my last proper session in Salida in 2022, right after Nottingham Worlds.

The year prior, I learned perseverance, hard work, determination, and most importantly, the aspects I love most in this sport and the best ways for ME to reach MY potential.

I thought the journey was over once I flew home from England, but it turns out the biggest lessons were just beginning.

I went from being a fired-up, confident kid ready to show the world what women can do, to having to rediscover my passion and strengths in new ways.

Over the past two years (and especially the last few months), I realized the importance of staying true to myself and not conforming to others expectations. Now, I’ve reignited my flame and it feels incredible to be back, paddling like ME again.

To future Abby scrolling through her Facebook memories: surround yourself with people who lift you up, trust yourself, and remember that you know yourself better than anyone else. Don’t let others opinions get in the way of your successes. We’ve got this! Trust the process and enjoy the journey, whatever that journey may be ❤️
