If there is any infection in the appendix, the tissues of the appendix show growth due to an increment in the count of WBCs, and ultimately create a blockage. This blockage may also occur due to fecal matter.
The inner layer of the appendix releases mucus to prevent the entrance of any sort of pathogens and bacteria. This mucosal matter gets deposited here because of the blockage and causes severe pain.
If this infected appendix is left unremoved, it may rupture and spread infection in your whole abdomen. Now, this infection may also cause death if it didn't get immediate treatment.
