How will you overcome the challenges of building a diverse and inclusive public service?

Mona Fortier: The work of eradicating bias, barriers, and discrimination demands an ongoing, relentless effort. That’s why we are making changes across the public service by implementing amendments to the Public Service Employment Act.

Greg Fergus: Those amendments help institutions reduce barriers and encourage more inclusive recruitment practices.

Mona Fortier: We also launched the Mentorship Plus and the Mosaic Leadership Development Programs across the public service. These programs help support leaders from under-represented equity seeking groups to take on executive positions.

Greg Fergus: The Government has also committed to hiring 5,000 new employees with disabilities by 2025 to help improve the representation of employees with disabilities at all levels of the federal public service.
