Title: The Value of Being Born Again - A New Beginning through Jesus
Text: John 3:1-17

I. Jesus Showed How Important It Was to Be Born Again. (John 3:3, 5)
A. Jesus challenged Nicodemus's faith. Even though Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a teacher, he was not spiritually reborn.

Jesus said clearly, "No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."

B. Born of Water and Spirit—Jesus said that birth is a work of the Spirit that cleanses and gives power, a full spiritual rebirth.

II. Jesus explained the mystery of how the Spirit works. (John 3:6–8)
A. "The wind blows where it wishes..." Jesus compared the work of the Spirit to wind: it is unpredictable, invisible, but strong and life-giving.

B. Jesus made it clear that this birth was not physical but spiritual. Only the Spirit of God can give birth to true life.

III. Jesus gave us new life through his death. (John 3:14–17)
A. Jesus said in Numbers 21 that He was lifted up like the serpent, which was a way for people who believed to be healed.

B. "For God so loved the world..." John 3:16 says that love is the foundation. The new birth is the best way to show God's love, and anyone who believes can have it.


Theology of the Text:
God is the Divine Spirit who causes us new birth. John 3:8
God is our Loving Father who gave His only Son for us. John 3:16
God is our Redeemer. The life of Jesus provided our salvation through His sacrifice. John 3:14-17


Life Application:
1. Open your heart to true spiritual transformation.
God doesn’t ask us to perfect ourselves before coming to Him. Jesus told Nicodemus that we must be born again—not reform ourselves, but be renewed by the Spirit. Today, humbly ask God to work in your heart and begin a new chapter of spiritual life, not through effort, but through surrender.


2. Let the Spirit lead your everyday life.
The Spirit is like the wind— unseen but real. You don’t have to understand everything, but you can trust that when you follow His voice, your life aligns with God's purpose. Invite Him daily into your choices, relationships, and emotions. He is present and active, not just during Sundays, but in your everyday walk.


3. Live with confidence in God's love and grace.
John 3:16 reminds us that we’re deeply loved—not because we deserve it, but because God chose to redeem us through Jesus. Let that love shapes how you treat others, how you handle guilt, and how you approach each day. You are born again to live differently—with hope, purpose, and the grace to grow.


Conclusion:
It is not a change in religion - being born again is a divine invitation. God opened the way through Jesus Himself that we could come from darkness into light, from death into life. The new birth is not done; it's given by grace through faith.
