The Second National Commission on Labour gave its report in 2004 suggesting labour reforms. There was no much progress in the next ten years. The process was expedited in the year 2014. Subsequently, it was decided to have four labour codes in the place of 44 existing central legislations. The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code is one of the 4 crucial codes which is been introduced but yet to be passed.
