Yay, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out!!! Also thank GOODNESS this font exists bc I was having the HARDEST time finding the right font
Also no hate on Jackie!!! She's amazing and finding all those clips with her made me love her even more :DDD

So since i kinda made this into an AU I'll explain a bit:

-This whole song is from star's pov

only if you knew
How much I liked you,
(kinda like a flashback to memories that show how much she cares for him and is willing to do for him + her feelings about him, hence the diary page)

but I watch your eyes
As she walks by
What a sight for sore eyes
Brighter than the blue sky

(this whole part focuses on Jackie and Marco's relationship and how she sees it as picture perfect)

While I die
(basically the start of star's side of the story, shows her pining after Marco after the events of Bon Bon)

Why would you ever kiss me?
(Shows Star using the all-seeing-eye spell and being hurt and shocked at seeing them kiss)

I'm not even half as pretty
(shows star comparing herself to Jackie)

You gave her your sweater
(this one doesn't follow the lyrics, it's more of a metaphor?? "You gave me your sweater" = Marco saved Star because he cares for her plantonically)

It's just polyester
(Not romantically)

But you like her better
(But you care for her romantically)

Wish I were Heather
(Star basically wishing to be like Jackie)

Watch as she stands with her holding your hand
Put your arm 'round her shoulder,
(Basically just Jackie and Marco being cute together)

now I'm getting colder
(Poor pining Star, searching in the crowd for where Marco is and runs off after seeing them together since it hurts her a lot, she takes the photo on the fridge and decides to talk to her friends about her issues)

But how could I hate her? She's such an angel
(Star thinking about her times with Jackie and venting out how she doesn't want to hate Jackie and how they are good friends)

But then again, kinda wish she were dead
(doesn't match lyrics as much, Star remembering how much pain Jackie caused her)

As she walks by
(Star flashbacks to Jackie and Marco kissing at the concert)

What a sight for sore eyes
(I kinda twisted the meaning of these lyrics and made it more literal, Star has sore eyes since she's so tired of pretending she's okay)

Brighter than a blue sky
(just Star remembering how she left the concert in pain)

She's got you mesmerized
(Goes back to present time with Star coming down the stairs to try and talk to Marco and seeing him talking with Jackie)

While I die
(Star backtracks and kinda chickens out of confronting him)

I'm not even half as pretty
(Star's in her room again, thinking about all the memories she and Marco shared)

You gave her your sweater
(They had the pier date before Star left and shared a hug, something that Star and Marco used to always do, it's a metaphor)

It's just polyester
(Star tells him the truth about her feelings and runs off when he can't properly reply back, not being able to stay there anymore)

But you like her better
(She knows he likes Jackie romantically and thinks she can never be like that)

I wish I were Heather
(She runs away to Mewni, Battle for Mewni still happens but she's a lot more willing to flee)

(Last part is Star talking to herself kinda, Last scene shows Star missing Marco and feeling like things can never go back to how they used to :'D )
