Hi everyone, and welcome back to our DIENES Video Series! My name is Julian Supe-Dienes, and I am glad to introduce to you the latest addition to our knife holder portfolio: the shear cut knife holder generation “Long Life.” This modern knife holder has been specifically designed for sensitive applications like in the nonwovens industry. So far the feedback from our customers has been outstanding.

What makes our new “Long Life” knife holder generation so special? First, of all, “Long Life” stands for full options, which means that the knife holders with this label include our latest features and innovations. I would like to highlight the following three points, which are brand new for this type of knife holder:
1st- The latest development of our CSL which means constant side load – now called CSL3. CSL3 ensures a constant slitting force over an extra large working window beginning at 0,5 mm and ending at 3 mm. As a result, the knife holder is able to compensate tolerances from manual or automatic positioning – it is that simple to increase the horizontal distance, respective distance between top and bottom knives to avoid collisions of top and bottom knives and ensure stable slitting forces.
2nd – Our Easy Change, coming in combination with an anti-dust bearing concept. Easy Change allows the exchange of knives without the necessity of a tool like a screwdriver. As a result, the operation has never been that safe and simple before.
3rd – Depth Contol supports the operators with a sensor based LED indication to set the overlap between top and bottom knives in a precise, safe and time saving way.

As a plus, the new knife holder generation is interchangeable with a lot of old knife holders in the field. All in all, “Long Life” does not only stand for highest durability of our DIENES products, but also has proven to reach highest knife lifetimes in the field.
