The Walnut Tree is a short story told through puppetry and music with no dialogue. It explores memories, love, new life and the mothering of nature. A collaboration between theatre practitioner Nisha Anil and composer Euan Smith.

After being inspired by a Paper Cinema workshop earlier in the year and working on her own Social Media live-streams during early lockdown, Theatre Practitioner Nisha Anil decided to collaborate with Music Composer Euan Smith. “I created the story with hand-drawn paper puppets and asked Euan to work on the music and editing of the film, all done and dusted in less than a week. It would have been a live puppetry and music performance but had to be adapted due to lockdown”. The film was shown in July at a local online Festival, Lockdown Inside-Out online Festival 2020.
