Build a Resistor From a Pencil in 15 Seconds! ⚡

Watch as we create a functional 25kΩ resistor using just a pencil and paper! This quick demo shows the conductive power of graphite and how you can prototype simple circuits with everyday materials.

🧪 The Process:

1. Shade a dark rectangle on paper using a pencil (graphite).
2. Cut it into a strip with precise dimensions.
3. Measure its resistance with a multimeter – and it reads ~25,000 Ohms!

🔬 The Science Behind It:
Pencil"lead" is actually graphite, a conductive form of carbon. The amount of graphite deposited, the darkness of the shading, the width, and the length of the strip all determine its resistance (based on the formula R = ρL/A). In this case, we engineered a strip that measures approximately 25 kilo-ohms.

💡 Why This Matters:
This is a perfect example ofrapid prototyping and understanding basic electronics principles. It shows how resistance isn't just found in store-bought components – it's a physical property you can design and create!

⚠️ Note: This is a demonstration. Homemade resistors like this are not stable (value can change with humidity, pressure, temperature) and are not suitable for precision circuits, but they're great for learning!
