B&SVRR 8419 at Benton st

The Boone & Scenic Valley RR's Chinese built JS class locomotive heads East through Boone for the Boy Scouts Railroad Camporee on May 9th. Engineer Dan Hetzel and fireman Joe Magee crawl her through downtown Boone, Iowa on 7mph track on her way back to the Boone County Fairgrounds to load up for the second trip of the day. You can also see student, Mike Hoskins in the doorway of 8419 and Logan Stilwill in the cupola of the Rock Island caboose. This train took almost all of the passenger cars the BSV owns, including Ex-Lackawanna cars, an Ex-Rock Island commuter car, an Ex-Metra commuter car, and Ex-South Shore cars. This was a dual-headed operation due to the lack of runaround facilities on the East end of the BSV, so we also see BSV 1003 on the West end of the train idling by.
