I was able to finally travel to the archipelago outside of Stockholm that I heard so much about. In the summer time, with the warmer weather and longer days, many people flock to islands like Sandhamn. These places have great restaurants, some have beaches, but there is absolutely no shortage of boats and docks. This is just some drone footage I was able to capture during my weekend there.

I got to Sandhamn from Uppsala (where I currently live) by taking the SJ train to Stockholm Central Station. From here, I take the Stockholm tunnelbana to Slussen, and make my way to the bus terminal. You can take bus 433 which will take you to Stavsnäs, the last stop and harbor where the boat to Sandhamn can be found. Then you grab a ticket from the ferry operator, pay on board, and set off to Sandhamn. The journey for me takes about 2 hours minimum, but the calming and laid back atmosphere of the island makes it all worth it.

As for the drone regulations: to fly in Sweden, one must have registered within their home European country and passed an exam in the A1/A3 drone category. As always, drone rules such as maintaining visual line of sight, flying no more than 120 meters in altitude, and never flying over crowds must always be adhered to.
