Walking tour, PLATAMONAS, Greece

Since the weather was not very pleasant for swimming, we decided to spend the day in Platamonas. We came to Platamonas walking along the beach, coming from Nei Pori. A walking tour from Nei Pori to Platamonas is available on our YouTube channel.

We spent the day in Platamonas simply walking and enjoying the day, in the ambience and also for each other. We visited the beach, but we can safely say that it is not to our taste. It's kind of rocky, very narrow, cramped and not long.

Then we visited the Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, which is located near the harbor. The church is Greek and Orthodox, and very beautiful. As you can see in our video, the doors that are closed and which you see when you enter the church lead to the very interior of the church, where a religious ceremony is served, a divine service, which unfortunately has not been recorded and you will not be able to see it in our video.

Near the church, just a few hundred meters down the street (you will see in our video), there is a very cute pastry shop with very tasty ice cream. The quantities served per serving are huge, and all the flavors of ice cream are full of the ingredients they are named after. For example, marshmallow ice cream is full of marshmallow inside the texture. Or Snickers is full of pieces of this chocolate. Etc...

Somewhere in the middle of the day we decided to walk to the fortress, which is located in the opposite direction from the port in Platamonas. It is located at the entrance to Platamonas, on a hill. This excursion was an interesting experience, given that the road passes through the forest, the road you walk is used by vehicles and is very well marked by signpost signs, so it is not difficult to find an object.
