This week on One Detroit: We’ve partnered with The Detroit News for an in-depth look at possible solutions to help reduce maternal deaths in Michigan.

Hayley Harding reported on the issue for The Detroit News earlier this year and joined with One Detroit Senior Producer Bill Kubota to examine what’s being done in California and in Southeast Michigan, where Wayne State University’s SOS Maternity Network program was recently launched. They also show how another local maternal care provider is working to change the culture of childbirth.

Contributor Stephen Henderson talks with Judson Center President and CEO Lenora Hardy-Foster about the organization’s 100th anniversary this year and how it’s looking to the future.
