One of the main symbols of hurricanes’ destruction and snail-like pace of recovery for the city is the Hertz Tower, formerly known as the Capital One Tower, which is still standing vacant. The 21-story skyscraper, which is the dominate feature of the Lake Charles skyline, has shattered windows and shredded tarps covering bits of it. After four years, the building is finally set to be demolished.
