Doctor Who: UNIT - A Retro Remix

Описание к видео Doctor Who: UNIT - A Retro Remix

Here is the final version of UNIT - a retro remix!
I've done as much as I can to make it sound 'era authentic'. The original version sounded a bit too early 80's or late 70's to sound right by my ear. I'll release it separately later. But I made sure to have some early synth sounds alongside a real drum and cymbal arrangement, and some heavy woodwinds like the bassoon which was common for BBC music of the time. There’s also a cheeky flute in the mix.

The early 70's blessed me with many scenes that fit brilliantly with the music. However, note that I focused primarily on Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart (including by opening with Nicholas Courtney's favourite scene) and Captain Mike Yates, given that these are the two actors of the main UNIT 'unit' who have since passed. I will do a separate video for the Doctor's main companions who have passed in another video.

Also, if anyone noticed, my usual Doctor leitmotif videos have the Doctor leaving at the end. I deliberately placed a clip of UNIT arriving at the end of the video, to emphasise that, unlike the Doctor, UNIT is always present and around to help. Just a little nod to their service.

I'm unsure who made the sheet music/MIDI for this video. I've had it for many years. So I'm unsure who to credit. If it's yours, please let me know so I can credit you.

Enjoy!
