Pooja Walia Crowned Mrs. Curve Globe 2025: Trailblazing Indo-Canadian Creates History and Dazzles the Ramp at Global India Couture Week, Mumbai
In a proud moment for Canada and India, Pooja Walia was crowned Mrs. Curve Globe 2025 in California, marking a historic achievement on the global stage. Representing both her Canadian and Indian heritage with pride, Pooja became the first Ontarian ever to win this prestigious international title, and the first contestant in the pageant’s 30-year history to win Mrs. Brampton, Mrs. Canada Globe, and Mrs. Globe Curve—all in her very first attempt.
Pooja’s path to the crown was nothing short of inspiring. Earlier, she won the title of Mrs. Canada Globe Curve 2024-25 in Edmonton, Alberta, a victory that showcased not just her grace and charm, but also her unwavering commitment to community service and advocacy.
Her advocacy, “Golden Grace, Every Senior Matters” was born from a deeply personal loss. In 2021, when Pooja’s mother passed away in India during the pandemic, travel restrictions prevented her from being by her side. This painful experience fueled her mission to ensure seniors received the dignity, care, and companionship they deserved. In 2023, she made a bold career shift, leaving behind her HR profession to work full-time in a retirement home, dedicating herself to uplifting seniors, combating ageist stereotypes, and fostering intergenerational connections.
Beyond her advocacy, Pooja proved to be a woman of many talents. A trained Classical Kathak dancer and certified Yoga instructor, she spent over two decades sharing her love for culture and wellness. Her dance journey included performances in Bollywood classics like Veer Zaara (2004) alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, and Dil Apna Punjabi (2006) with Harbhajan Mann and Neeru Bajwa. She also shared the stage with Ghazal legend Jagjit Singh and met the iconic Lata Mangeshkar.
Her acting talent was recognized when she was selected to play “Krishna Tulsi” in the television phenomenon Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2006–2010), though life took her to Canada soon after. There, she gracefully balanced her roles as a PSW, model, actor, dance teacher, yoga instructor, and later a global pageant winner, all while being a devoted wife and mother of two daughters.
Pooja’s contributions were celebrated widely. She was invited to Ontario’s Parliament at Queen’s Park by the Minister of Long-Term Care, interviewed for her inspiring work in healthcare, and honoured with multiple awards. These included the Woman Hero Award from the House of Commons MP and the prestigious King Charles III Pin for her community service.
With her crown, Pooja Walia stood as a role model not only for Canadians and Indians but for women around the world. She embodied intelligence, compassion, and resilience, qualities that made her an exceptional ambassador for both nations on the global stage.
