This past weekend, the picturesque coastal town of Cadaqués played host to a special musical event at Bar Canshelabi. Wild Romance, the legendary Dutch rock band known for its roots with Herman Brood, delivered two electrifying performances that drew both locals and visitors alike. Nestled in one of Cadaqués' charming corners, Bar Canshelabi was transformed into a vibrant hub of energy and music, as Wild Romance reminded everyone why they are still a force to be reckoned with on the rock scene.
The Venue
Restaurant Bar Canshelabi, known for its bohemian atmosphere, was the perfect setting for Wild Romance’s gritty, high-energy performance. The intimate space allowed for a close connection between the band and the audience, creating a raw and authentic rock experience. With the rustic charm of Cadaqués surrounding them, the bar's open-air design allowed the music to spill out into the narrow streets, blending with the sounds of the sea.

Saturday Night: Raw Energy
Saturday's performance was a whirlwind of classic rock and roll energy. Wild Romance took the stage with a powerful rendition of "Saturday Night," immediately grabbing the crowd's attention. The band’s iconic , Dany Lademacher, led with his signature guitar riffs, sending waves of nostalgia through the air. The night was filled with high-octane performances of songs like "Still Believe" and "Dorien," all of which were met with enthusiastic applause and cheers.

The audience, packed into the small space, responded with dancing, singing, and even spontaneous air guitar solos. The vibe was electric, with every person in the crowd feeding off the band’s energy. As the night wore on, the intensity only grew, making it a performance to remember.

Sunday Evening: A More Intimate Set
Sunday night’s show took on a slightly different tone. While the energy was still there, the performance felt more intimate, as if the band was playing for a close group of friends rather than a larger audience. The setlist included a mix of classic hits and the band took time between songs to engage with the audience, sharing stories and reminiscing about their long career.

The standout moment of the evening came during a stripped-down, emotional rendition of "Still believe," which had the crowd swaying and singing along softly. It was a moment of connection that encapsulated the spirit of the evening—an evening where the line between performer and audience seemed to disappear.

The performances drew a diverse crowd, from longtime fans of the band to curious locals and travelers. Bar Canshelabi’s intimate space made it impossible not to be swept up in the excitement, and by the end of each night, the entire venue was on its feet, dancing and singing along to every chorus. There was a palpable sense of joy and community, as if everyone in attendance had shared in something truly special.
Wild Romance’s performances at Bar Canshelabi were a perfect blend of rock nostalgia and raw emotion, set against the backdrop of one of Spain’s most beautiful coastal towns. The band's enduring energy and passion for their craft shone through on both nights, leaving the audience buzzing with excitement. For those lucky enough to be there, it was a weekend of unforgettable music and memories in Cadaqués.

Capturing those moments of Wild Romance's performance was for me was a great way to preserve the energy and magic of my summer trip to Barcelona, Cadaqués. Sharing those videos with fellow fans will surely let them experience some of that magic as well. There's something special about being able to relive those moments and share them with people who appreciate the music just as much as I do.

It was the perfect mix—enjoying the holidays in a stunning location like Cadaqués, with amazing live music as the soundtrack. When you combine relaxation with those kinds of unforgettable experiences, it makes the holiday even more meaningful.

A visit to Cap de Creus, Tudela and El Faro made me feel for a moment the another dimension to the Surrealism art and paintings of Salvador Dalí and the Raw Rock'n roll energy Herman Brood, while both iconic artists, approached their art in distinct ways that reflected their unique personalities and eras.
