From January 2008 until January 2015, members of Ear of the Rat (aka EOTR aka EOTR1) recorded over 200 completely improvised live music shows. Many of their shows were broadcast live on the internet via ustream.tv and then uploaded to the official Ear of the Rat youtube channel:    / eotr1

Lord Open writes:
"Music is the understanding of the relationship between invisible internal objects. We play music to explore within, and experiment with, that understanding. Sometimes it's another doorway opened when this activity is in the witness of an audience other than ourselves.
We're up for a live jam; it would be just like every Friday night for the last five years. It's a constant surprise how much we have evolved and grown. We play for and to each other; it's sometimes an environment, sometimes a song, but always together.
Each one of us are all from wildly different musical backgrounds. Most of us have been actively creative in St. Catharines for years â in bands, solo projects, various collaborations, and varied contributions to the cultural scene."

Our current moniker is Space Basement 5. We are an on-going open source improvised sound recording project of Space Basement Collective.

Founded by members of EOTR1, The goal of Space Basement Collective is to continue our music experimentation in the spirit of the original 21st Century Un-band and the many Niagara based jams that have come before us.

We are grateful to continue to be part of the St. Catharines' Home Rock music scene.
