Alright, we're back with another foray into the 1960s. This video features 50 albums released during the 1960s that have had the titles and artists' names removed. How many can you name without that information?

The 1960s were a groundbreaking decade for modern music, setting the foundation for many of the sounds, styles, and cultural movements that define popular music today. During this period, artists pushed creative boundaries, blending genres like rock, folk, blues, soul, and pop in ways that had never been heard before.

The Beatles revolutionized not just music but global youth culture, while artists like Creedence Clearwater Revival and Crosby, Stills and Nash infused lyrics with social and political meaning, elevating songwriting to a new level of artistry

The rise of Motown and Stax Records brought African American music to the mainstream, shaping the future of R&B, soul, and pop. Meanwhile, the British Invasion, psychedelic rock, and the emergence of album-oriented music changed how people consumed and experienced music, moving from singles to cohesive artistic statements.

And then there were the Monkees. Yep...

Anyways, the basic premise is pretty straightforward - I show you the album cover and you have seven seconds to name it. You may want to have the remote handy in case you need to pause while you talk them out - I get it, it happens. Give yourself a point for the artist and a point if you got the title. Come down to the comments and let us know how you did. While you're there, how many of these albums did you have / do you still have?

Now a few points I have to make that no one will see because no one actually reads the descriptions for YT videos this deeply. The records shown in this video are not my "personal picks." I spent a lot of time going through lists - bestselling albums of the 60s, best-reviewed albums of the 60s, etc - compiling a big master list of albums. From there, I randomized the list, only adjusting to avoid having the same artist pop up multiple times in a single video. If there are artists who aren't in this video, that doesn't mean they've been ignored. It means the odds weren't in their favor this time around. It's an ongoing series, and they could show up later.

Another point I have to address is "yes, I'm American." The information I'm compiling is almost certainly coming from American-leaning sites, but here's the thing: when I go into, say, a UK-specific list, I'm seeing the same titles over and over again. I'm not trying to skip anyone or exclude anyone, but data is data.

One final point is this - album covers can vary from region to region and reissue to reissue. Your cover may not match what's shown, and I'm sorry if that spoils things for you. I try to go with the cover that is most accurate to the widest release (which, again, does tend to skew to my US-sensibilities, sorry not sorry).

Oh, and because someone asked - yes, the album collection at the beginning of the video (under the titles) is my personal collection.
