Yes, this is another video of a Bachman's Sparrow singing from a burned stump. These birds, once known as "Pinewoods Sparrow", are in serious trouble as the clearing of the mature pine forests they need has greatly diminished acceptable habitat. And changes to forestry practices (especially the lack of regular fire) have made much of the remaining pinewoods unsuitable.

So I'm very pleased to have the species within minutes of my home. One tiny patch in particular, only 100 acres of well managed pinewoods, has a healthy breeding population. And in Springtime, the birds aren't hard to find as males ignore me to sing that sweet song.

You'll also hear an Eastern Towhee offering a variation of the typical "Drink Your Tea-e-e-e" song (he doesn't seem to care whose tea you drink, just belting out, "Drink Tea-e-e-e". A Summer Tanager is also singing nearby. And others may be heard more faintly in the background including another Bachman's Sparrow.
