Скачать или смотреть E20 petrol good or bad? Govt reacts, acknowledges drop in fuel efficiency

Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas issued a detailed statement amid growing concerns around E20 petrol. Several petrol car drivers raised concerns over the government 'forcing' E20 petrol, which is not compatible with their car engines. Concerns like E20 impacting the car's engine, lowering fuel efficiency, performance, and other issues were raised.

The government dismissed the claims, calling E20 'not suitable' for a large section of cars. Taking to X, the government responded to media reports questioning whether E20 is harmful to car engines. The govt said it carried out a long-term testing of carbureted & fuel-injected cars with E20 & found no major changes.

Govt said further tests were carried out by ARAI, IIP, and Indian Oil's research wing, confirming no abnormal damage even in old cars. E20 also passed hot and cold engine start tests without any sign of engine damage, the Govt said.
