La Fortaleza - Indigenous Fortified Settlement - Gran Canaria Exploring 🇮🇨 4K

La Fortaleza is a historic indigenous settlement located in the mountains of Gran Canaria near San Bartolomé de Tirajana. As recently as 1483 people indigenous to this island defended the mountain settlement until they surrendered to the Castilian troops. An archeological site of great importance, the visitor centre nearby hosts some of the finds from recent digs including mummy’s, pottery & other relics.
