Did I Find 10,000 Year Old Rock Art In The Nevada Desert?

Описание к видео Did I Find 10,000 Year Old Rock Art In The Nevada Desert?

While researching the oldest petroglyphs found in North America I was startled when I recognized a few of the images that are found at Winnemucca Lake and have been dated to be around ten to fifteen thousand years old!
The carved images I viewed on this trip were not similar, they were pretty much the same as some of the images found at Winnemucca Lake!
It's no doubt that the rock art I viewed on this trip was old, some of it very old. Could it be that it's from the same culture/time period as the rock art at Winnemucca Lake? Why not!
The two sites are hundreds of miles apart but that distance doesn't mean much because people were always on the move during that time period, following resources and such as the seasons changed or so goes the thinking.
If (and this may be a long shot) the rock art was produced by the same culture during the same time period it means there was a group of people sharing a similar belief and the style of rock art is an example of how an expression/belief/ideal moves across distance, because I don't think one single individual is responsible for making the rock art all those years ago, it more than likely was taught to certain people who then passed it along.
If this is all connected and the rock art is from the same time period/culture it clearly demonstrates an organized belief that was in use over a large distance a very long time ago in North America. How awesome!

Visitation to sites such as this should be done with the utmost respect. The artwork is not simply graffiti, it is a window into the past and it is culturally significant. Please take great care when visiting and observing these places.
